The Hunt For Lycan Queen: Story & Stakes

The situation at the start

Henry Uses Medical Care to Compel Lila's Attendance

Lila's father has largely ignored her while assigning her a position far below Elena's. His sudden summons does not restore equal standing: he orders her into a royal selection because Elena cannot attend, then threatens her mother's treatment when she resists. His threat makes medical dependence the decisive source of coercion in these opening paragraphs, overriding Lila's objection that the favored daughter should attend and forcing her to weigh refusal against her mother's needs.
