Torn Between Her Alphas: Story & Stakes

The situation at the start

Amelia's Recovery Is Limited by the Pack's Secret

The flashback places sixteen-year-old Amelia in a fire after years of bullying over not shifting. Surviving does not give her control over the explanation: her family removes her from hospital to avoid exposing a secret, while others speculate that she started the blaze herself. In these opening paragraphs, competing explanations surround Amelia while she is still physically distressed, making her insistence on her own recollection especially important against the rumors Zeph reports and the precautions her family has taken.
